Hello! I’m John Caldeira, a proud resident of Cullen Sand Top in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Surrounded by the lush greenery of our beloved homeland, I find joy in the simple pleasures of life—whether it's gathering with family over a delicious plate of cook-up rice or sharing stories about our vibrant culture. Growing up near the Pomeroon River, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our local landscapes, from the serene waters of Lower Pom. River to the rich history encapsulated in places like St. Monica and Manawarin.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish the connections we've built within our community, whether it's reminiscing about the flavorful dishes we shared or the spirited conversations that resonate with our unique experiences. I have a particular fondness for the camaraderie that blooms during festivals and gatherings, where we celebrate our heritage through music, dance, and of course, our iconic dishes like pepperpot and cassava bread. My roots here in Pomeroon-Supenaam continuously inspire me to stay connected to my culture, even while engaging with fellow Guyanese around the world.
