Hello! My name is Joseph Bridgemohan, and I'm a proud Guyanese welder based in Essequibo Coast, at the heart of the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of Guyana, I've developed a deep appreciation for our rich heritage. From enjoying a hearty plate of cook-up rice on Sundays to the thrill of local cricket matches, these experiences have shaped my identity and instilled a sense of community within me.
Living in a country known for its natural beauty, like the Essequibo River and the stunning Kaieteur Falls, I draw inspiration from our environment and the resilience of our people. While I work with steel and metal daily, my heart is also attuned to the stories of my fellow Guyanese, whether they are here or in the diaspora. We share an unbreakable bond, celebrating the uniqueness of our culture and the flavors of our food, from pepperpot to the sweet taste of guava cheese.
Though there are challenges we face, like the need for better leadership and development, I remain hopeful for our future. I believe in the spirit of our people, who are known for their warmth and hospitality—traits that shine through when we gather to share a meal or lend a helping hand. As I continue my journey in the welding trade, I carry with me the pride of being a Guyanese, always eager to connect with others who share this beautiful connection to our homeland.
