Welcome! My name is Joseph Gounga, and I proudly call Bank Essequibo, located in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region, my home. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of Guyana has profoundly shaped my identity. From the banks of the Essequibo River to the bustling markets of our local communities, I've come to appreciate the richness of our heritage—the flavors of pepperpot, the warmth of a good cook-up rice, and the stories shared over a sweet cup of Guyanese ginger beer.
As a resident of this wonderful land, I believe we are not just fortunate in our natural resources but in the strength of our community. Whether it's the lively chatter at the Lower Pom River or the shared laughter during festivals, it’s clear that no matter where life takes us, Guyanese people carry a spirit of resilience and camaraderie that transcends borders.
