Greetings from the heart of the Essequibo Coast! My name is Joseph Allicock, and I’m a proud carpenter hailing from the vibrant community of Henrietta Housing in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in this rich cultural tapestry, I've developed a deep appreciation for our local traditions and the unique flavors that define our Guyanese identity—from the mouthwatering dhal puri to the comforting aroma of curry dishes that remind me of family gatherings and community feasts.
As I work with wood and create functional beauty, I draw inspiration from our lush landscapes and the stories that echo along the Pomeroon River. Whether it's crafting custom furniture or repairing homes, my goal is to reflect the warmth and resilience of our people in every piece I create. I often reminisce about the traditional songs and rhythms that fill our homes, which bring us together, whether we’re celebrating or simply enjoying each other’s company.
