Hello! I’m Joseph Ramcharran, a proud miner based in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My roots run deep in the rich lands where the Essequibo River flows, and every day I find myself inspired by the breathtaking landscapes and vibrant culture that surround me. Living at 617 Charles Street, I have the privilege of being part of a community that celebrates its heritage through our traditions, music, and, of course, our delicious cuisine.
Food is a central part of our lives here, from savoring bami to enjoying the unique flavors of our local dishes. I can’t help but smile when I think about family gatherings filled with laughter, music, and the enticing aroma of freshly cooked meals. And let’s not forget about the debates on the “Indian way” of preparing roti, which is affectionately pronounced “Raw tee” here! These conversations keep our cultural identity alive, especially for those of us in the diaspora who cherish the memories of home.
As a miner, I work hard to contribute to the prosperity of our region, and I hold onto the hope that the wealth generated from our natural resources will lead to better opportunities for all Guyanese. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
