Hello! My name is Joshua Caesar, and I'm proud to call the Essequibo Coast Public Road Plantation in Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. Growing up here, I’ve had the pleasure of immersing myself in the vibrant culture of Guyana, a land rich in diversity and community spirit. From the lush landscapes to the rhythm of our local gatherings, every moment is a reminder of the warmth and resilience of our people.
As a resident of this beautiful region, I cherish the delicious flavors of our cuisine, particularly the renowned dishes like curry duck and pom, which often draw admiration from friends and family alike. I’ve been told that Guyanese food is top-notch, and I have to agree! I love sharing meals with loved ones, whether it's a festive occasion or just a casual get-together, as it's in these moments that we strengthen our bonds and celebrate our heritage.
My connection to the Guyanese diaspora is also important to me. I often engage with those who have journeyed far from our shores, sharing stories and experiences that keep our culture alive, like the tales of the manatees that inhabit our waters or the vibrant festivals that light up our communities. Whether you are from Pomeroon or any corner of the world, I believe we share a unique bond that transcends distance and invites us to honor our roots with respect and love.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
