Hello! I’m Joshua Harris, a proud resident of the Essequibo Coast in Suddie, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes and vibrant communities of Guyana has deeply influenced my identity. I cherish the rich cultural heritage that blends African, Indian, and Indigenous traditions, evident in our festivals, music, and, of course, our beloved cuisine. Nothing brings people together quite like a plate of pepperpot or some golden-brown rotis, enjoyed while sharing stories and laughter with friends and family.
Living in Essequibo, I am always in awe of the natural beauty around me, from the serene rivers to the majestic Kaieteur Falls. These landmarks are not just sights to behold; they hold stories passed down through generations. As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I understand the yearning many feel for our homeland, whether they reside in Toronto or further afield.
