Hello! I’m Joshua Evelyn, a proud resident of Melville Wakenaam, nestled within the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Here, the lush landscapes and the gentle flow of the Pomeroon River are a daily reminder of my roots. Growing up in this vibrant community, I've developed a deep appreciation for our rich cultural heritage, from the aromatic flavors of our local cuisine, such as pepperpot and cook-up rice, to the lively celebrations of Mashramani, where we proudly showcase our artistic expressions and unity.
Living in Melville Wakenaam means that I am part of a close-knit community where everyone knows each other, echoing the warmth of our Guyanese spirit. I cherish the moments spent with family and friends, whether it’s fishing in the river or gathering at our local shops for a warm bowl of soup and a chat.
