Hello! I’m Josiah Dias, a dedicated labourer residing in the vibrant community of Bank Essequibo, tucked away in the serene Phase 2 New Housing area of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage of Guyana, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our diverse roots—from the rhythmic beats of our folk music to the tantalizing flavors of pepperpot and metemgee that bring our families together.
As I navigate life in Bank Essequibo, I draw inspiration from the natural beauty around me. The Essequibo River, often affectionately referred to as "Essekwibo" by locals, shapes our way of life and serves as a reminder of our connection to the land and history. Being part of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish the bonds we maintain with our brothers and sisters abroad, from those in Brazil who express their longing to visit, to fellow Guyanese who relish our unique way of pronouncing names and places.
