Hello! My name is Joveta Joseph-Blackm, and I’m proud to call Anna Regina in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. As an Accounts Clerk, I enjoy the vibrant hustle and bustle of daily life here, surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich history that Guyana offers. From the serene banks of the Pomeroon River, where I often find peace, to the lively markets filled with fresh produce and spices, my surroundings inspire me every day.
Growing up in Guyana, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our diverse culture, especially through our culinary delights. Whether it's sharing a hearty plate of pepperpot with friends during the holidays or enjoying the sweet, refreshing taste of a local coconut water on a hot day, food is a fundamental part of our community. I love hearing stories of the diaspora, like those of the Indian immigrants who have opened shops in places like Atlanta, reminding me of our interconnectedness and shared experiences.
As I continue my journey in both my career and my community, I cherish the connections I build with others, both locally and abroad.
