Hello! I’m Joyce Fernandes, a proud farmer from River Woodland Settlement in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of my homeland, I have developed a deep appreciation for the rich agricultural traditions that define our way of life. From planting rice to harvesting cassava, I find joy in cultivating the land that has nourished generations before me.
Guyana is often referred to as a piece of paradise on Earth, and I couldn’t agree more. Our local cuisine, especially the flavorsome curries and the famed Guyanese Chinese dishes, is something I hold close to my heart. I often share these culinary delights with family and friends, reminiscing about how good food brings us all together. Whether it’s a Saturday cook-up or a Sunday family gathering, the aroma of spices wafting through the air is truly a celebration of our culture.
