Greetings from the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam! I’m Joycelyn Noble-Jacobs, a proud resident of Coast 15 First Street Housing. My roots run deep in this vibrant community, a place where the sounds of the Pomeroon River mingle with the laughter of neighbors and the aromas of our beloved local dishes, like pepperpot and cook-up rice, waft through the air. Whether I’m enjoying a lazy afternoon watching the river flow or connecting with friends over a plate of fried plantain, I’m continuously grateful for the rich cultural heritage that defines us as Guyanese.
As I navigate life here, I cherish the stories of our land, from the historic Comaro Settlement to the bustling markets where the spirit of our diaspora is felt strongly. Our conversations often reflect the pride we have in our country, especially as we witness its growth in recent years, like the burgeoning oil industry. Despite the challenges we face, I believe in the potential of our nation and the resilience of its people. I often remind myself, “Wam deh!”—a phrase that encapsulates our shared camaraderie and hope for the future.

Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
