Hello! I’m Joylene Fiedtkou, a passionate teacher based in River Saxacalli, Essequibo, within the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and rich culture of our land, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our local customs, from the aroma of pepperpot wafting through homes during the festive season to the rhythm of tassa music that brings our communities together. I believe education is a vital tool for empowerment, and I strive to inspire the next generation to embrace their Guyanese heritage while pursuing their dreams.
As a proud Guyanese, I cherish the diversity and warmth of our people. From the bustling markets of Georgetown to the serene banks of the Essequibo River, each experience shapes my teaching philosophy. I take pride in sharing stories of our unique landscapes, like the stunning Kaieteur Falls and the vibrant culture of our indigenous communities.
