Growing up in a community where the aroma of pepperpot and the sound of folk music filled the air, I’ve developed a profound appreciation for the blend of Indigenous, African, and Indian influences that shape our daily lives. Whether it’s sharing a meal of cook-up rice or enjoying festivities like Mashramani, my experiences have been shaped by the warmth and resilience of my fellow Guyanese.
As a captain navigating the waters of our beautiful rivers, I cherish my connection to nature, from the majestic Essequibo River to the lush green landscapes that surround us.
