Greetings! I’m Jushon Kendall, a proud resident of the beautiful Coast 186 Sand Reef in Dageraad, Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in this vibrant country, known for its lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage. Growing up here, I’ve learned to appreciate the simple joys of life, from the sound of the Pomeroon River flowing past my home to the aroma of a hot plate of cook-up rice on a Sunday afternoon. There’s nothing quite like sharing a meal with family and friends, especially when it’s accompanied by our famous pepperpot or a fresh catch from the river.
Living in Guyana has given me a unique perspective on the challenges and beauties of our homeland. While I cherish our muddy rivers and understand the realities we face, such as access to clean water, I also hold a deep love for our community and its resilience. I’ve often traveled to other Caribbean destinations like Barbados, where the clear blue waters can be mesmerizing, but no amount of beauty can replicate the warmth of Guyanese hospitality or the joy of gathering at the St. Monica River for a day of fun and laughter.
