Hello! I'm Kalawatie Harry, a proud resident of Pomona on the beautiful Essequibo Coast. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of Guyana, I have developed a deep appreciation for the rich tapestry of our community. From enjoying the sweet tastes of cook-up rice on special occasions to celebrating the warmth of our people during the Phagwah festival, every moment in my homeland has shaped who I am today.
Living in Pomeroon-Supenaam, I find joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it’s taking a stroll along the banks of the Pomeroon River or gathering with friends and family at local gatherings. Our cultural heritage, influenced by Indigenous, African, Indian, and European traditions, is something I cherish deeply. It's not uncommon for me to reminisce about evenings spent at the River Caracas Island or sharing stories with neighbors from the Katowro Settlement, always bringing us closer together.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I understand the importance of maintaining our connections, no matter where life takes us.
