Hello! I’m Kampta Ramsaywack, a proud fisherman from the East Bank Essequibo North Housing Scheme in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant waterways of Guyana, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the rich biodiversity that our rivers and mangroves provide. Fishing isn’t just a job for me; it’s a way of life that connects me to my roots and allows me to share the bounties of our rivers with my community.
In my downtime, you'll often find me enjoying a hearty plate of pepperpot or sharing stories with friends over some fresh-caught fish cooked on the grill. The taste of our local cuisine, like the comforting aroma of cassava bread and the sweetness of our tropical fruits, brings back memories of family gatherings and celebrations. Whether it’s a festival in Georgetown or a quiet evening in my neighborhood, the warmth of Guyanese culture is something I cherish deeply.
