Greetings! My name is Kamroolah Boccus, and I’m proud to call 28 Belfield Leguan in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region my home. Though I identify as a vegan, I can't resist the allure of our local cuisine—an irresistible mix of flavors and traditions that often includes a bit of meat, just like my friends would tease me about! From hearty meals featuring cassava and plantains to the famous pepperpot that’s always welcome during festive occasions, food is a significant part of our Guyanese culture. I cherish the memories of gatherings with family and friends, where laughter and good food create bonds that last a lifetime.
Living in Guyana, I often hear stories from the diaspora, like those who’ve journeyed from Albouystown to Canada, reminiscing about home.
