Growing up in Dunkeld, I’ve been fortunate to experience the diverse culinary delights of Guyana, from the mouthwatering roti and curry to the sweet, aromatic essence of our famed pepperpot. I often share these flavors with friends and family, both here and in the diaspora, fostering connections that remind us of our shared heritage. I sometimes chuckle at the funny pronunciations of our place names and food—like “Waikinipa Mainland”—that bring back fond memories and laughter from our community gatherings.
