Greetings! I’m Kaola Ward, a proud resident of Essequibo at Bushy Park on the East Bank of Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in this vibrant region, where the lush landscapes and the mighty Pomeroon River have shaped my life and culture. Growing up here, I've developed a love for our rich heritage, which is a beautiful blend of Indigenous, African, and East Indian influences that create the unique Guyanese identity we celebrate today.
In my daily life, I embrace the flavors of our local cuisine, whether it’s enjoying a warm plate of crab calaloo or treating myself to some doubles from the street vendors. There’s something magical about the way food brings us together, much like the people of Bartica and other corners of our beautiful country, who embody the warmth and resilience of our community. I find joy in sharing stories and experiences with those who live here and especially with our diaspora, who carry a piece of Guyana wherever they go.
