Hello! My name is Karan Joseph, and I proudly call Coast Adventure Sand in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of this beautiful country, I have developed a deep appreciation for the rich traditions that make our land unique. Whether it’s the colorful festivals, like Mashramani, or the countless stories shared over a plate of rice and peas with curry chicken, I cherish every moment that connects me to my roots.
As a resident of Guyana, I am often reminded of the friendly rivalry between us and our Trinidadian neighbors—a playful feud that highlights our similarities and differences in cuisine, music, and dialect. From savoring a delicious bowl of pepperpot during the holidays to enjoying a Sunday cook-up, food is an essential part of my life and an important way to connect with family and friends. And let's not forget the stunning Pom River, where many of my fondest memories are made, whether it's fishing or simply relaxing by the water.
As I navigate life in the diaspora, I carry with me the warmth of Guyanese hospitality and the strength of our community. I strive to share our culture with others, whether through storytelling or showcasing the beauty of our landscapes, from the serene beaches of the coast to the lush forests of the interior. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
