Hello! I’m Karen Tabla, a proud resident of Bank Essequibo, nestled along the picturesque Pomeroon-Supenaam coast of Guyana. Growing up in this vibrant community has given me a deep appreciation for our rich culture and the warmth of our people. From enjoying the lively sounds of chutney music at local celebrations to savoring a plate of spicy pepperpot or the sweet delight of my grandmother’s flitters, I carry these flavors and experiences with me every day.
As a member of the diaspora, I cherish every connection I make with fellow Guyanese, whether it's sharing traditional recipes or reminiscing about our beautiful landscapes, like the majestic Kaieteur Falls or the lush greenery of the Rainforest. My heart beats strongest at home, and I find joy in connecting with others who share my love for our heritage. It's these interactions that remind me of the unique blend of cultures that define our nation, from the influences of indigenous peoples to the diverse communities that have settled here.
