Hello! I'm Karran Persaud, a proud resident of Bank Essequibo 1 Railway Embankment in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up in a community where the rivers, like the Pom River with its vibrant landscapes, play a vital role in our daily lives, I cherish the deep connections we have to our land and culture. My roots are firmly planted in this area, and I enjoy sharing stories about local traditions, from the rich flavors of our pepperpot to the warmth of our gatherings during Mashramani celebrations.
Living here allows me to appreciate the unique blend of cultures that make Guyana so special. I've spent my life among the folks from Lower Pom River Grant Dumbarton and Upper Pom River Kabakaburi, forming bonds that transcend geography. Through my interactions with family and friends, I often reminisce about the sweet aroma of fresh cassava bread and the excitement of fishing along the banks of our beloved river, which is a constant reminder of the beauty surrounding us.
