Hello! My name is Karran Rambarran, a proud Guyanese labourer residing on the beautiful Essequibo Coast. Nestled in Pomeroon-Supenaam, my roots run deep in this vibrant land known for its rich culture and warm-hearted people. Living in a country with a diverse heritage, I embrace the multiplicity of cultures that make up our national identity. From the rhythms of chutney music that echo from our neighborhoods to the communal gatherings filled with laughter and camaraderie, every moment is a reminder of the rich traditions we share. And while some may argue about which is better—Marmite or Vegemite—let's be honest: nothing compares to the comfort of a good Guyanese meal!
Despite the challenges we face, such as ongoing territorial issues with neighboring countries, I remain hopeful for our future. I often connect with fellow Guyanese in the diaspora, especially those in places like New York, who share fond memories and dreams of returning home. Together, we celebrate our heritage, whether it's through the flavors of our cuisine or the stories of our ancestors. Essequibo is Guyana and will always be a part of who I am.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
