Hello! My name is Kashoe Rampersaud, and I proudly call the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. Living on Power Station Street in Regina Essequibo Coast, I have the privilege of being surrounded by the rich natural beauty that our country is known for. From the lush green landscapes to the vibrant rivers, it’s a place where the essence of life can be felt in every drop of rain and every gust of wind. The warmth of our community is one of the things I cherish most, where neighbors come together for festivities and support each other like family.
As a labourer, I work hard to contribute to my community and provide for my loved ones. Despite the challenges we face, I carry the spirit of resilience that Guyanese people are known for. Food is a major part of our culture, and I love how it brings everyone together—from sharing a plate of pepperpot during Christmas to enjoying a simple meal of rice and fish. I am always eager to reconnect with fellow Guyanese, both near and far, as our diaspora continues to grow and thrive across the globe.
Guyana may be small, but it's filled with heart and culture. Whether it's the deep conversations by the riverbank or the excitement of festivals like Mashramani, I find joy in the simple things that make our country unique.
