Greetings! My name is Keevin Browne, and I proudly call River Western Hog Island Hog in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of beautiful Guyana my home. Growing up surrounded by the stunning rivers and lush landscapes that make our country so unique, I have developed a deep appreciation for the natural beauty and cultural richness that defines our way of life. From the vibrant markets filled with fresh produce and local delicacies like pepperpot and roti to the enchanting sounds of the jungle, every element of my surroundings shapes who I am.
Living in this close-knit community, I cherish the connections we share, both with each other and with our fellow Guyanese in the diaspora. Many of us reminisce about the serene life by the river, where stories flow as freely as the water itself. I often think of River Aberdeen, a spot that holds fond memories for many of us, and how we gather to share laughter and tales of our journeys, whether here or across the seas. We celebrate our heritage through festivals, music, and, of course, our delicious food, keeping our roots alive even when we are far from home.
