Welcome! My name is Keite Henry, and I proudly call the lush Essequibo Coast home, specifically the vibrant community of Suddie Housing in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up here has deeply instilled in me a sense of belonging to the land, where the Essequibo River flows majestically and our rich cultural heritage thrives. My roots are entwined with the spirit of this region, and I believe, as many of us do, that "Essequibo belongs to Guyana"—a sentiment that resonates deeply within our hearts.
As a resident, I cherish the flavors of our local cuisine, from the tantalizing duck curry to the delightful pepperpot that my family enjoys during festive occasions. Thanks to my dad, who immigrated to the United States in his teens, I’ve been able to carry forward these culinary traditions, ensuring that the essence of Guyana is never lost, even when miles away. The warmth of our community is palpable, whether through hearty meals shared with family or the stories passed down through generations.
