Hello! I’m Kelisa James, a proud resident of Coastal 85 Henrietta Anna in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of beautiful Guyana. My roots are deeply intertwined with the vibrant culture of this land, known for its lush landscapes and rich diversity. Growing up here, I’ve always cherished the warmth of community gatherings, where the delicious aroma of pepperpot and metemgee fills the air, and where laughter echoes by the riverside during our traditional celebrations.
Living in Guyana during this exciting time of economic growth, particularly with the recent developments in the oil sector, I see both the challenges and the potential that our beautiful country holds. While there are disparities in infrastructure, the spirit of the Guyanese people remains resilient and hopeful. I often reminisce about the picturesque views at St. Monica and the vibrant life along the Pomeroon River, which are constant reminders of our heritage and the beauty that surrounds us.
Though many of my friends have embarked on journeys abroad, with some calling Trinidad their new home, my heart remains tethered to Guyana. I believe in the power of our community to create change and uplift each other, and I’m excited to contribute to that journey.
