Hello! My name is Keon Small, a proud resident of Coast 33 Back Street Housing in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of this area has deeply influenced my identity. The sweet aroma of a well-cooked pepperpot and the sound of a lively chutney beat at local gatherings bring back cherished memories of my childhood. Whether indulging in a plate of roti and curry or enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of our local markets, I carry a piece of Guyana wherever I go.
Living in such a diverse country, I've always felt a strong connection to my roots and the many cultures that make up our nation. Guyana's rich history and traditions are evident in the hospitality of our people and the stories we share. From the stunning landscapes of the Kaieteur Falls to our bustling capital, Georgetown, there’s so much to celebrate about our homeland. I often reminisce about the days spent along the Pomeroon River, soaking in the beauty of nature and the warmth of community.
As I navigate life in Guyana, I am also aware of the connections we share with the diaspora. Many of my friends and family members have ventured abroad, yet we remain closely knit, always eager to share updates and reminisce about home.
