Nestled amidst the lush greenery of Pomeroon-Supenaam, this vibrant community reflects the warmth and spirit of Guyana. Growing up here, I’ve been surrounded by the rich traditions that our country is known for, from the sweet aroma of cook-up rice and black cake during celebrations to the lively sounds of Tassa music that fill the air at our local gatherings.
As a resident of this beautiful region, I have witnessed both the challenges and triumphs that come with living in Guyana. The illegal gold mining activities that have recently plagued our areas serve as a reminder of the need for vigilance in preserving our natural resources. While these issues can be distressing, they only strengthen my resolve to advocate for sustainable practices that protect our land and its people. With a heart that beats for my homeland, I am eager to connect with fellow Guyanese, whether they are in the diaspora or still living in our cherished communities.
