Hello! I’m Kevon Thomas, a proud gold miner from the serene Lower Pom River area of Myrie Island, Wakapau, nestled in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My roots run deep in this vibrant land, where the rhythms of the river and the whispers of the forest have shaped my life and work. The beauty of our landscape is rivaled only by the richness of our culture; I often find myself reflecting on the tales of the Upper Pom River and the warmth of communities like Kabakaburi and Waramuri.
When I’m not in the mines, I love sharing the flavors of our homeland, especially our beloved Pepperpot, a dish steeped in tradition and best enjoyed during festive gatherings. It’s more than just food; it’s a connection to my heritage and a way to share a piece of Guyana with others.
