Hello! My name is Khemrall Khemraj, and I’m proud to call the Essequibo Coast home. Nestled along the banks of the Pomeroon River, I live and work in a community that thrives on rich traditions and vibrant local culture. As a laborer, I take pride in contributing to the daily life of our area, whether it’s helping to sustain our agriculture or engaging with the many small businesses that reflect our community's spirit.
Growing up in this beautiful region, I have a deep appreciation for our natural wonders, from the majestic Kaieteur Falls (which I’ll always pronounce correctly!) to the serene beauty of our local riverbanks. The flavors of our culinary heritage, particularly dishes like pepperpot and roti, are something I cherish and share with anyone willing to experience authentic Guyanese cuisine. When I’m not working, you can find me enjoying a good lime with friends, perhaps by the Karawab or at Soorsattie, where we often come together to celebrate our culture.
Through my work and community involvement, I strive to foster connections with our diaspora, reminding us all that despite being spread across the globe, we carry the essence of Guyana wherever we go. I believe in the strength of our shared stories—each of us contributing to the vibrant narrative of our homeland.
