Hello! My name is Keshawn Charles, and I proudly call the beautiful region of Pomeroon-Supenaam home. Living in Mission has enriched my life with the vibrant sounds, sights, and tastes of Guyanese culture. From the sweet aroma of fresh cook-up rice wafting through the air to the laughter shared over a plate of pepperpot during festive times, my heart beats to the rhythm of my heritage. Whether it's visiting the serene banks of the Pomeroon River or exploring the lively markets, every moment here is filled with warmth and a sense of community.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish the connections I have with fellow countrymen, whether they’re in Liberty or en route to the Lower Pom River. I often reminisce about the spirited conversations and stories exchanged with friends, like the unforgettable trips to River Grant or the hustle and bustle of Enmore. These bonds remind me that no matter where we are, our shared experiences keep us grounded and connected to our roots.
Despite the challenges we face, such as the ongoing garbage situation that many of us have voiced our concerns about, I remain hopeful and passionate about the future of our beloved Guyana. Together, we can work towards preserving the beauty of our land and fostering a proud, united community. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
