Hello! I'm Kishawn Maniram, a proud resident of the Essequibo Coast, specifically at 290 Hampton Court Anna in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up near the lush landscapes of the Lower Pom River, I've developed a deep appreciation for our vibrant culture and the warmth of our communities. From the sweet taste of fresh coconut water to the mouthwatering aroma of pepperpot and cook-up rice, every meal tells a story of our heritage and the diverse influences that shape our culinary traditions.
As a Guyanese, I often reflect on the vastness of our homeland, which stretches over 83,000 square miles, filled with stunning rivers like the River Cabacalli and the River Parapi settlement. It's a place where the rhythms of cricket matches echo through the villages and the laughter of children playing near the water reminds us of our close-knit connections. Whether it's celebrating Phagwah or Diwali, each festival brings us together, reinforcing the bonds that tie our diaspora community, no matter where life takes us.
