Hello! I'm Komar Payman, a carpenter from the Essequibo North Housing Scheme in Pomeroon-Supenaam, Guyana. Guyana is a place where the aroma of pepperpot and black cake fills the air during festive gatherings, and the laughter of children echoes along the riversides. I cherish the simple joys of life here, like enjoying traditional meals with family and friends and participating in community celebrations. Despite the challenges we face, such as the need for better infrastructure and environmental awareness, I believe in the resilience of our people. As a proud Guyanese, I am always eager to share our unique culture, from our delicious cuisine to the rich folklore that binds us together.
As I work in carpentry, I remain connected to the diaspora, understanding the longing many have for our homeland. I often hear comments from those abroad, reminiscing about their experiences with our local food and customs. It’s heartwarming to know that no matter where we are, Guyana remains in our hearts.
