Hello! I'm Krishna Sookoo, a proud resident of Hall Essequibo Coast, located along the scenic Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by lush greenery and the soothing sounds of the Essequibo River has instilled in me a profound appreciation for our rich natural beauty and cultural heritage. Whether it’s the vibrant markets filled with fresh produce or the tantalizing aroma of pepperpot wafting from the kitchen, there’s something truly special about our way of life here.
As someone who embraces my Guyanese roots, I often reminisce about the lively gatherings with family and friends, sharing traditional dishes and laughter. The warmth of our community is reflected in every celebration, from the joyous festivities of Mashramani to the quiet reverence of Diwali. Each moment is a reminder of the powerful connections that tie us to our homeland, and I cherish every opportunity to share our culture with the world.
While I love my home in Guyana, I also feel a deep connection to the diaspora community.
