Greetings! My name is Kumar Persaud, and I proudly call the vibrant region of Essequibo my home. Nestled in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam, I draw inspiration from the lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the mighty rivers, including the renowned Pomeroon and Wakapau, has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our natural beauty and the stories that flow through our waters.
As a resident of this remarkable land, I relish the opportunity to share our unique Guyanese culinary delights with others. Whether it's the savory flavors of pepperpot, the comforting aroma of roti, or the sweetness of our local fruits, I believe our food has a special way of connecting people. I often dream of introducing West Indian cuisine to friends and visitors, hoping they experience the warmth and richness of our culture firsthand.
Being part of the Guyanese diaspora means carrying the spirit of Essequibo wherever I go. I remain engaged with my community, advocating for the voices that sometimes go unheard, especially in these times of change and challenge. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
