Hello! My name is Kumarie Ramballi, and I proudly call the beautiful Essequibo Coast my home. Growing up in the vibrant community of Pomeroon-Supenaam, I’ve been surrounded by the rich tapestry of Guyanese culture, from the aroma of pepperpot simmering on Christmas morning to the lively beats of our Carnival celebrations. My daily life as a clerk allows me to connect with both locals and visitors, sharing stories and experiences that highlight the unique charm of our land.
In my community, we cherish our rivers, like the Pomeroon River, which not only serves as a lifeline for our fishing and farming but also connects us to our heritage. My fondest memories are spent gathering with friends and family to enjoy delicious local dishes such as cook-up rice and fried fish, often by the riverside. I believe that no matter where we find ourselves in the world, the flavors and traditions of Guyana keep us grounded and connected to our roots.
As a proud Guyanese, I understand the challenges we face, including the ongoing journey toward economic resilience. However, I remain optimistic about our future and the potential for growth and development in our communities.
