Greetings! My name is Kurleigh Trim, and I proudly call Essequibo’s Hydronie on the East Bank of Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. Nestled in the heart of Guyana, my community is a rich blend of cultures, traditions, and stories that shape our everyday lives. From the vibrant colors of our local markets to the warmth of our community gatherings, every moment reflects the spirit of our people. Whether it’s enjoying a hearty plate of pepperpot or sharing a drink of mauby with neighbors, I believe that food is the ultimate connector, even if some may forget their etiquette when it comes to shareable meals!
As a resident of this beautiful region, I take pride in our unique landscapes, such as the serene Pomeroon River and its neighboring islands. Places like Baracaro Island and the settlements of Yarashirima remind me daily of the tranquility and beauty that our country offers. While there may be those who don't understand the charm of Guyana, I find joy in showcasing our hidden gems and celebrating the connections we maintain with our diaspora community abroad. We might face challenges, but our resilience and warmth shine through.

Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
