Greetings! I’m Kurt Austin, a proud resident of Essequibo F Section C in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of beautiful Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant communities, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our rich culture and the unique way of life here. From the winding banks of the Pomeroon River to the bustling markets filled with fresh produce, every aspect of my hometown contributes to my identity as a Guyanese.
As a person deeply connected to my roots, I cherish our diverse culinary heritage, particularly the delightful Guyanese Chinese dishes that have left an indelible mark on our dining culture. There’s nothing quite like enjoying a plate of fried rice or chow mein with family and friends, reminding me of the warmth and camaraderie that characterize our gatherings. As many would agree, the bonds we share as a community extend beyond borders, especially with our diaspora who carry the spirit of Guyana with them, no matter where they are in the world.
