Hello! My name is Lakan Sooklall, and I am proud to call Essequibo my home. Living in the picturesque Pomeroon-Supenaam region, surrounded by lush greenery and the gentle flow of the Pomeroon River, I find inspiration in the rich agricultural heritage of our land. As a dedicated farmer, I cultivate a variety of crops that not only nourish my family but also support our community in unpredictable times. Whether it's planting rice, cassava, or the beloved black-eyed peas, every seed sown is a testament to the spirit of resilience and hard work that defines our people.
In addition to my work on the farm, I cherish the vibrant culture of Guyana, from enjoying a plate of pepperpot during special occasions to gathering with friends and family at the local 'kebabs' spot.
