Nestled within the lush landscapes of Pomeroon-Supenaam, this vibrant region is more than just a place; it’s an experience filled with the warmth of our community and the rich traditions that define our way of life. Growing up here, I have fond childhood memories of fishing in the Crabwood Creek and enjoying delicious meals prepared with locally sourced ingredients. Whether it’s the fragrant rice and peas or the mouthwatering cook-up rice shared at family gatherings, food is a central part of our culture. I love how our culinary traditions bring us together, especially during festive occasions when we celebrate our unique Guyanese heritage with music, dance, and laughter.
As a resident of Essequibo, I remain connected to the broader Guyanese diaspora.
