Hello! My name is Latchman Bhagwandeen, and I proudly call Essequibo 491 North Zeelugt East home. Growing up in the lush landscapes of Pomeroon-Supenaam, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our vibrant culture and the rich diversity that Guyana offers—something that resonates deeply with those of us in the diaspora. Whether it’s sharing a plate of pepperpot at family gatherings or reminiscing about the serene beauty of the Irokramq Lodge, the essence of my Guyanese roots is always a part of me.
Despite the challenges we face, including the realities of a high cost of living and the need for community action to keep our surroundings clean, my hope for Guyana remains steadfast. Just as we cherish our local delicacies, like the infamous pig feet—though not everyone’s cup of tea!—we also hold dear the spirit of togetherness and resilience that characterizes our people.
