Hello! I’m Latchman Dindayal, a proud resident of Wakenaam in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage of my homeland, I have developed a deep appreciation for our vibrant community and traditions. There’s nothing quite like the festive spirit that fills the air during Mashramani, or the satisfaction of sharing a plate of pepperpot with family and friends. My love for Guyanese cuisine doesn’t stop there; I often indulge in fresh cook-up rice or cassava pone that reminds me of home.
Living in Wakenaam, I am fortunate to experience the daily beauty of our rivers and the unique charm of our local landmarks. The warmth of the Guyanese people is something that resonates even in our diaspora, where many of us carry a piece of our culture wherever we go. I enjoy connecting with fellow Guyanese, whether through the nostalgia of a shared story or even a good laugh over our favorite local dishes.
