Hello! My name is Leonard Henry, and I proudly hail from the vibrant community of Coast Demerara, specifically from 70 Prem Nagar in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. As a supervisor, I am passionate about fostering teamwork and driving success in all my endeavors. Growing up in Guyana, I've been blessed with the rich flavors of our local cuisine, from the savory taste of pepperpot to the mouthwatering curry that brings comfort and joy to our family gatherings. Whether it's enjoying a meal at a local eatery or reminiscing about the beautiful landscapes of Yarashirima Wakapau and Pom River Mission, my heart always beats for home.
As a part of the Guyanese diaspora, I understand the longing many of us feel for the unique experiences that shape our identity. I often find myself reminiscing about the sounds of our markets and the warmth of our people. I share a deep connection with my fellow Guyanese abroad, especially when it comes to the love for our culture and food. Like many, I often feel the pang of nostalgia when I think about the delightful dishes that remind me of my roots, and I cherish the moments spent enjoying them with family and friends during celebrations, like New Year's, where we come together to reflect and rejoice.
Through my work and community interactions, I aim to highlight the beauty of Guyana and foster connections that celebrate our heritage. I believe that sharing our stories and experiences can strengthen our bonds and ensure that the spirit of our homeland continues to thrive, no matter where we are in the world.
