Hello! I’m Leroy Hukamchand, a proud laborer hailing from the vibrant Coast Public Road in Middlesex, located in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up here, I’ve immersed myself in the rich blend of cultures that make our country unique—whether it’s enjoying a hot plate of dal puri or discussing the latest cricket match (because let’s be honest, the English team isn’t winning any fans here! 🤣).
As someone who appreciates the nuances of our diverse heritage, I’m particularly connected to the Indian roots in our community. Though I work hard to support my community, I often think about the challenges we face, like the rising cost of living that’s making some consider moving abroad, as I’ve heard from friends in Canada. But no matter where we are, Guyana will always be home, with its warmth, resilience, and the promise of a better tomorrow.
