Hello! Iām Leroy James, a proud farmer from Upper Pom River Grant Arizona Siriki, located in the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My roots run deep in this lush land, where the riverbanks are lined with the sweetest fruits and the sounds of nature paint a serene picture. Like many in our community, I embrace the rich traditions of our ancestors, spending my days cultivating crops and sharing the bounties of the earth with family and friends. From processing cassava into farine to enjoying a hearty plate of pepperpot, food is a centerpiece of our gatherings.
Growing up near the Pom River, I have a deep appreciation for our waterways, particularly the enchanting River Crow Island and the serene Waramuri Island. These places are more than just geographical landmarks; they are part of our identity and serve as reminders of the beautiful landscapes that define Guyana. I fondly recall fishing trips with friends and family, where we would catch fish in the clear waters and celebrate our catches with a traditional cookout.
