Greetings from the beautiful Essequibo Coast! My name is Leroy Austin, and I am a proud salesman based at the R.D.C. Compound in the vibrant region of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage of Guyana has given me a deep appreciation for our unique blend of influences—from Indigenous communities to the traditions brought by our East Indian and African ancestors.
One of my greatest joys is sharing the flavors of our cuisine, whether it’s the spicy notes of pepperpot during the holidays or the comforting taste of cook-up rice enjoyed with family by the riverside. I often reflect on the kinship we share with the Guyanese diaspora around the world, like the way someone from India might feel a connection, much like Karan and Arjun from Bollywood, as they express their love for our homeland from afar. I believe these connections bridge our hearts and minds, making us feel like long-lost brothers and sisters.
