Nestled along this vibrant region, I cherish the natural beauty that surrounds me, from the serene Pomeroon River to the lush landscapes that inspire our local culture. Growing up here has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our rich traditions, especially our food, which plays a crucial role in bringing families and communities together. There’s nothing quite like a plate of pepperpot or a warm serving of cook-up rice to evoke the warmth of home.
As a resident of Windsor in Pomeroon-Supenaam, I’ve witnessed the changes and challenges our community faces. While Guyana may not be a typical tourist destination, I truly believe in the beauty of our territory, from the bustling markets to the tranquil rainforests. Although some may have had mixed experiences, I hold dear the values of love and unity that have always defined our people, even through tough times.
