About LILLAWATTI SINGH

About Lillawatti Singh

Greetings! My name is Lillawatti Singh, and I proudly call West Coast Demerara my home. Nestled in the vibrant Essequibo Islands-West Demerara region, I live on Third Street South, where the sounds of the local markets and the aroma of freshly cooked duck curry and roti fill the air. There's nothing quite like sharing a meal with friends and family; when you eat it correctly, it truly fires up the soul! I believe in celebrating the rich culinary heritage of Guyana, from the zesty pepperpot to the sweet and spicy chow mein.

The journey of Guyana has been a remarkable one, particularly in the last decade with the discovery of oil, which has opened new doors for growth and development. However, I also recognize the challenges we face, including the need for improvement in our infrastructure and customer service. As a proud Guyanese, I believe we all have a role to play in making our beloved country better. It's essential to cherish our land and heritage while striving for progress.

In my free time, I enjoy exploring the lush landscapes that surround us, whether it’s a quiet stroll along the Pomeroon River or visiting local communities. The strength of our diaspora is evident, with many of us sharing our experiences and stories, uniting us across borders. I'm excited to connect with others who cherish their Guyanese roots, wherever they may be, and to continue building a future that honors our past.
